Wanda Curio Brooks
Wanda Curio Brooks, 92, of Mill Fall Community, went to be with the Lord on Saturday from the home of her daughter-in-law who was her caregiver. She was born August 13, 1927 at Watson a daughter of the late Samuel Franklin and Ethel Pearl Estep Curio.
Wanda was a homemaker who loved to exercise and work out and loved to bowl. She was a member of the White Rock Community Church and more recently attended the Lumberport Baptist Church with her family.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Linda Carothers Brooks, Shinnston; a sister, Geraldine Hall, Fairmont; 3 grandchildren: Crystal Dawn Brooks (Bill Barbour), Stephanie (Brent) Thorne, and Samuel Grant Brooks; 5 great grandchildren: Devin and Aaron Barbour, Katelyn and Alyvia Brooks, and Taylor Thorne; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Dale E. Brooks; her son, Dale Franklin Brooks; 5 sisters: Katherine Curio, Josephine Edwards, Virginia Furbee, Susan Gerkins, Betty Curio; and 5 brothers: William, Gerald, Sammy, Samuel Curio and Joseph Miller.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and from 12-1 on Friday. A funeral service will be held on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Betty Jones officiating. A private interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens at Fairmont. www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com.
