Fairmont, WV - Steven James Conrad, 52, of Pleasant Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 15, 2025. He was born in Fairmont, WV, on June 6, 1973, a son of William Hoy Conrad and Althea Boggess Conrad. He was a 1991 graduate of East Fairmont High School and a 2000 graduate of Fairmont State College. He was employed as an aviation maintenance technician at Pratt Whitney in Bridgeport.

Steve was an avid fan of Star Wars and the band Rush. He loved rock music, classic cars, and was a lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills. He was also the drummer for Tane Lynne and Shadow Creek and enjoyed playing with them at local music venues. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kristy Gaskins Conrad; their daughter, Lennox Katherine Conrad; his brother Jeffrey Conrad (Rhonda); father-in-law Thomas Gaskins; sisters-in law Valerie Paderanga (Manny) and Jennifer Higgins; nephews Mason Conrad, Arande Higgins and E.J. Paderanga; nieces Meghan Conrad and Ayana Higgins; uncle and aunt Rick and Sally Morgan; and beloved dogs Vader, Padme and Digger Conrad. In addition, Steve leaves behind many friends who will miss his kindness and sense of humor.

Steve was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Deloris Boggess; paternal grandparents Jake and Freda Conrad; mother-in-law Kathy Gaskins; his dogs Hank and Rosco; and their family hedgehog, Rosie. Steve's wife Kristy and his daughter Lennox were the joy of his life. A savings account has been established at Fairmont Federal Credit Union for Lennox's education. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 1 PM until 4 PM and from 5 PM until 8 PM, and on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11 AM until 2 PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on August 23, 2025, at 2 PM with Pastor K.P. Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
