Shirley Ann Sypult-Niezgoda, born in Watson on December 11, 1936, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Genesis Care Center.

Shirley is survived by her three children, Mike Niezgoda, Randy Niezgoda(Lee) of Fairmont WV and Brenda Niezgoda of McCallsburg Iowa; six grandchildren, Bobbi Wyatt(Jim) of Florida, Cheyne Niezgoda of Orlando FL, Erika Lekwa (Jeff) of Roland Iowa, Taylor Kuroski(Brett) of Milton NH, and Nathan(Carese) and Kenzie Niezgoda of Fairmont WV; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Irons of Fairmont WV and Kevin Mason Niezgoda of Florida.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Amelia Sypult, brother Ernest Junior Sypult, and sisters, Mary Kroczak and Nellie Terry and her husband of 60 years, Edward Eugene Niezgoda.

Shirley graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1954. She then went on to work as a telephone operator until 1962. After that time, she went on to work in retail, mainly in the toy and sporting goods areas until she finally retired from Wal-Mart one month shy of her 70th birthday.

There will be no formal service at this time.

Ross Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and Shirley will be laid to rest at the Mt. Zion Cemetery outside of Fairmont.
