Idamay, WV - Sheila Lynne Shaffer-White, 78, of Idamay, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at WVU Medicine Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Fairmont, January 23, 1947, a daughter of the late Ira Benjamin "Benny" Cain and the late Mary Kendall Cain.

Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Terry Shaffer, and her second husband, David Ray White; and two brothers, Ira Delmas Cain and Joe Skarzinski.

Surviving are two children, Douglas Patrick Shaffer and his wife Diane, Pleasant Valley, T. Jenine Fairley, Fairmont; grandchildren: Zachery Charles Shaffer and his wife Brittany, Ian Gabriel Fairley, Ella Diane Watson, Kaylee Michelle Watson; great grandchildren, Carson Douglas Shaffer and Parker Brian Shaffer; sister-in-law, Julie Dawn Munza and her husband Rick, Idamay; her step children, Debbie Eastep, Bridgeport, Rodney White, Jane Lew, and David Joseph White and his wife Serena, Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.

Sheila retired from Fairmont General Hospital where she was a Registered Nurse in the Behavioral Unit for 30 years. She was a proud member of the Hampton Road Baptist Church. She loved her church family and enjoyed Sunday lunches with them. She knew her bible inside and out. Sheila also enjoyed reading, road trips, and camping at Big Bear Lake. She knew everyone and never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, from 2-8pm, Thursday, May 8th. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 9th at 11am with Pastor Josh Carlisle officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens.
