Princess Joan Avya Ruth Clay, infant child of Michele Belton and Vanny Clay, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday (Dec. 20, 2016) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on Nov. 4, 2016, in Morgantown.
In addition to her parents, she leaves to cherish her memory seven brothers, Kisean Clay, Trea Cumberledge, Malachi Belton, Jermaine Clay, Khalil Clay, DaQuan Clay and Larry Clay; two sisters, Amirah Cumberledge and Rayonday Clay; three grandmothers, JoAnn Clay, Ruth Phillips and Missy Belton; three grandfathers, Dennis Evans, Emmanual Belton and Vanny Jones; one great-grandmother, Delores Evans; several uncles, including Dennis "Terrell" Evans, Roddruss Clay, James Phillips and Tristen Kent; several aunts, including Talitha Clay Stock, VanQuisha Clay, Gaynell Clay, Janell Hunt, Shannon Little, Lisa Little, Jatema Little, Yvette Little, Jena Stubbs, Melissa Belton, Priscella Belton and Tyisha Belton; several great-uncles, including the Rev. Robert (Edith) Clay, James White, Johnny Brown, Austin Clay, Roddruss Clay Sr., Aaron Clay, Dorian Clay, Robert Hopkins, James Nevels, Charles Evans, Clifford Johnson, Drew Andrews, Percy Lee Clay, Alfred Belton Jr., Antonio Belton, Larry Belton, Irvin Belton and Emmanuel Belton Jr.; several great-aunts, including Selina Scott, Angela Dillard, Cathy Carter, Yvette Belton, Rayonda Stubbs, Terra Bryant, Marsha Clay, Cindy Clay, Vikki Evans Johnson, Evon Andrews, Charlene Jones, Alagrea Belton, Shaton Belton and Charlene Belton; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Joan Clay; and other relatives, Daveda Williams, Charles Evans Sr., Betty L. Brown and Alfred E. Belton.
Friends may call from 11 a.m.-noon Friday at the Morning Star Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at noon, the Rev. Wesley Q. Dobbs officiating with the Rev. Robert Clay as eulogist. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
