Oakland, MD - Patricia Ann (Bell) Schwartz, 89, of Oakland, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home where she had been for the past 77 days. Born on October 8, 1935, in Haywood, WV, she was the daughter to the late Leonard N. and Pauline (Lynch) Bell.

Patty graduated from Philippi High School in 1953, where she was Drum Majorette of the marching band. She was appointed as a princess for the Strawberry Festival in Buckhannon, WV during this time. After graduation, she worked at Broaddus Hospital as a histology technician under the supervision of Dr. Wu for several years. Patty and Richard were the owners of Fairmont Printing Co for many years, where they produced the state magazine, Wild, Wonderful West Virginia. They moved to Canaan Valley in 1979, where they co-owned several businesses until they retired in 2003. Patty will be remembered as a strong, intelligent businesswoman. She enjoyed staying up to date on current events and enjoyed her NASCAR racing, WVU football, as well as NFL teams. She was an accomplished artist. She found great pleasure in playing golf with her friends and with her husband and grandson. In her later years she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and talking with her "boys", Colby, Keaton, and Warren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Beth Schwartz, of Thomas; her grandson, Richard Colby McKinnie and wife Amelia, of Oakland, (whom Patricia lived with), and grandsons, Keaton and Warren; and her sister, Jean "Bell" McEldowney of Albuquerque, NM. Also, a very special, dedicated friend who was always there for her no matter what, Cindy Carr Huffman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Schwartz and her younger brother, Leonard Ronnie Bell, of Fairmont, WV.

Patty had a Blessed life and has requested no funeral. She requested that any donations in her memory be sent to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org
