Montana Thomas, 89, of Friendly, WV passed peacefully Monday, April 18, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 4, 1933 in Middlebourne, WV daughter of the late Peter and Merle Ash. Her death was not COVID related. She is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Rev. Donald Thomas.

In addition to her parents, Montana was preceded in death by her siblings, Lorne Ash, Loman Ash, Joe Ash, Lois Texena, Nila Ash, Munice Flesher, Hope Keller and her granddaughter, Paige Thomas.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Marvin (Dale) Thomas, Kathy (Ralph) Herron, Darlene (Tom) Marlowe, and Peter (Angie) Thomas; grandchildren, Everett Thomas, Tiffany (Eric) Mason, Steve (Dawn) Herron, Todd Herron, Victor (Bethany) Herron, Zachary (Danielle) Marlowe, Luke (Dianna) Marlowe, Seth (Abigail) Thomas, Timmy (Brooklyn) Thomas, Matthew Thomas; great grandchildren, Ethan and Kherrington Marlowe, Henry and Anne Marlowe and Archer and Coen Herron, Emerson Thomas. She is also survived by her siblings Una Henderson, Dorman (Martha) Ash, Charity (Larry) Headley and Faith Baker plus many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed quilting, canning from her garden produce, and especially watching her Hereford cows. Many people have enjoyed snuggling under her pieced, embroidered or polyester quilts. She was member of the Little United Methodist Church. She supported her husband thru the many churches her husband has served.

Friends received 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Furbee Funeral Home in Middlebourne. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022. Burial to follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Alma, WV.
