Fairmont, WV - Mollie Matilda Davis, 94, of the Hopewell Community in Fairmont, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday July 21, 2025. Tillie was born in Metz, WV on May 10, 1931, which was Mother's Day that year. She was the daughter of the late John William and Martha Genevieve (Tennant) Davis.

Tillie was a graduate of East Fairmont High School, class of 1949. She also attended the WV Business College. She was employed for over 44 years and retired from Acordia of WV. She was an active member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in which she served in various offices and sang in the choir. Tillie was also a member of the Marion County Community Outreach Service (past treasurer for 15 years) and was a 4-H leader.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Clyde William "Bill" and his wife Mary Davis, two nieces and two nephews and their families: Catherine Louise (David) Webb and children Kevin William and Mark David; Charles William (Debbie) Davis their children Mattie Jo Davis and Kayleigh Ice Burke; John Robert (Cindy) Davis and children Cody and Dalton Warner; Susan Virginia (Michael ) Torries and children Evan Michael, Lauren Virginia, Laina Anne Torries, and several great great nieces and nephews.

She preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Davis.

Family and friends can gather at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, July 25, 20025 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am. Pastor Gary Steele and Pastor Claude Kinty will be officiating, and a burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
