Michael Dean Rakocky, 67, of Kingmont, crossed over peacefully in his home on November 16, 2019, after a brief illness. He was born on May 22, 1952, in Fairmont, a son of the late Wanda (Baker) and John Rakocky.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jennifer (Onderko) Rakocky; daughters, Lesley Erin Rakocky and Jennalee Alaine Toothman and husband, Andrew; the two loves of his life, his grandsons Mason Alan and Max Michael Toothman; sister, Kathy Laughlin; brother, John Rakosky and wife, Crystal; brother-in-law, Stephen Onderko; nieces, Taylor Rakosky and Sarah Onderko; nephews, Jonathan and Joshua Laughlin, and Jake Rakosky.

After graduating East Fairmont High School in 1970, he attended Fairmont State. He retired from Novelis after working 37 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mike enjoyed gardening and took great pride in keeping his yard and property looking beautiful. He was an avid reader and a loyal West Virginia fan. He had many pets throughout his life that he loved dearly.

At his request, there will be no service.

Jennifer,
We All go through this life with the unknown walking beside us. I am so sorry that it has reached out to take your hand. Mike will continue to be with you now. In the quiet, he will speak to you. The unknown will be pushed away. He is now the one holding your hand. Sending your family love, prayers and peace.

Jennifer,
I'm so sorry for your loss. When Nancy gets home, maybe some of us can have lunch. I only seem to see you at Walmart. We'll do this when you're ready.
