Melissa Lee (Shelton) Gill Obituary

Melissa Lee Shelton Gill, 49, of Harrison County, passed away on March 30, 2018. She was born in Marion County on Oct. 30, 1968, a daughter of Robert Shelton and the late Joyce Angela Riggs.

Melissa loved to read horror novels and gory narratives. She also loved being outside with family and friends. She loved cats, angels and making people laugh with her quirky vocabulary. No matter how hard she tried, her cooking concoctions were something else.

Melissa is survived by her daughter, Keri and her husband Anthony; grandchildren Kamdyn and Emma Michaels and her father Robert Shelton and step-mom Peggy Warpole. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Angela Riggs.

She is also survived by two siblings and their families, including Jennifer Munro and her daughter Daphne, her son Markus and his fiancée Autumn Keller, and the couple's baby due in July, Liam Matthew; and a loving friend, Robert McIntire.

The family asks that funeral contributions be made to Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home to help defray expenses.

A wake will be held at a relative's house on Friday, April 6, 2018. Those attending should RSVP by calling (304) 694-6477.
