Fairmont, WV - Mary Ellen Kramer passed away on September 11, 2025, just shy of her 90th birthday. She was born on September 16, 1935, to the late Thomas Webb Straight and Wanda Bell Duncan Straight.

She grew up in Barrackville, West Virginia, and later she and her husband made their home in Kingmont, West Virginia, surrounded by lots of loving family. Throughout her life, she worked at Owens-Illinois, Westinghouse/Phillips Lighting, and for the City of Pleasant Valley.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donley Kramer; her parents; her siblings, Frances French, Ruth Silverman, and Tom Straight; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Onderko, and Trudy Straight; her brother-in-law, Jerry Kramer; her special niece and best friend, Barbara Toothman; and her son-in-law, David Ashburn.

She is survived by her children, Carol Ashburn, Donna Swisher, and Greg Kramer and wife Alissa; her grandchildren, Mike Swisher, William (Kristi) Swisher, Jessica (Sam) West, Matt (Marrissa) Ashburn, and Zach Wilmoth; and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Swisher, Tenley Ashburn, Brady Ashburn, Avery West, Chloe West, and Nathan Murphy. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Kramer and Colleen Stanley, and many other special nieces and nephews.

Mary enjoyed crafting, especially ceramics and crocheting. She was known for her witty comebacks and her ability to always tell it like it was. Her grandchildren will always treasure the adventurous summers spent at her home, the unforgettable New Year's Eve parties, and the stories she shared about her childhood.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregiver, Michelle Thompson, for her kindness and support.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Friends and family may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home. 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, West Virginia, on September 15, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am, with Pastor Jim Zinn presiding. An interment will follow at The Monumental Cemetery in Fairmont, West Virginia.
