Martha Virginia Ashcraft
Martha Virginia "Ginny" (Leeper) Houghton Ashcraft, 72, of Fairmont, went to her Glorious Rest with her family by her side at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital on Thursday, September 05, 2019. She was born on October 05, 1946, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Grace V. (Summers) Leeper.

Ginny was a graduate of Grafton High School and attended Fairmont State University. She owned and operated Select Pastries in Fairmont with her first husband, Charles Houghton, for many years. After his passing, she worked for American General Life and Accident until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Swisher Hill Union Mission Church.

She had loved and enjoyed her family and friends (including her beloved dog) to the fullest - never taking a moment for granted. Her smile and laughter always warmed hearts and would light up any room. Her ultimate goal was to make Heaven her home, and her sincerest desire was to see family and friends in glory someday.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Raymond "Eddie" Leeper II.

Ginny is survived by her loving husband, Roger Ashcraft, to whom she has been married for 34 years.

She is also survived by daughters, Bonnie Houghton and Charlene Wilson and husband Terry, all of Fairmont; step-children: Roger Ashcraft, of Virginia, Cindy McQuain, of Beckley, and Sherri Atterson, of Beckley; sisters, Linda Coffman and husband Delano, of Lost Creek, and Patricia "Patty" Graham and husband Mike, of Ohio; grandchildren, Patrick Wilson and wife Kalie, of Bridgeport, and Janessa Wilson, of Fairmont; aunt, Martha Altop, of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Cindy Marie Martin Leeper, of Grafton; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and church family.

Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Sunday from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., and at Swisher Hill Union Mission Church, 15 Koons Run Rd., Fairmont, on Monday from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., with services being held at the church on Monday, September 09, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Chad Weaver and Terry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Janes Memorial Cemetery.
