Morgantown - Laura May Christopher Ridenour passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Mon Health Medical Center at the age of 91.

She was born May 11, 1931, in Scottdale, PA, the daughter of Zonie & Catherine Calvert Christopher. At the time of her death, Laura was living in the Catawba Community, Fairmont, WV. She was raised and lived in Morgantown where she would graduate from Morgantown High School in 1950.

She worked at several places in Morgantown including Morgantown Hardware, OJ Morrisons & retired from the Monongalia General Hospital, now Mon Health Medical Center, with more than 40 years of service.

She was a people person and enjoyed, quilting, jigsaw puzzles and crafts. She also wrote a number of poems and short stories.

Laura is survived by her two children; Laura Ann Lemley and husband David of Morgantown; Marshall Ridenour and wife Beverly of Mt. Olivet, KY; one grandson Bradley Ridenour of KY; one great grandson, Joseph Ridenour; step-grandchildren: Shawna Lemley Smith and husband Tim; Chara Lemley and friend Shawn; step-great grandchildren, Elliott Smith and Addi Smith.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Ridenour and one brother, Melvin Christopher in 1937.

Friends and family are invited to gather at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Monday Feb. 6, 2023 from 4 - 6 PM and again on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of services at 12 PM with Pastor Gary Steele officiating.

She will rest with beside her husband at Pisgah Cemetery, Smithtown Road, Morgantown.
