Mannington, WV - Karen Mae Mitchell, 78, of Mannington, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at her residence. She was born in McCurdysville, July 29, 1947, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Ethel Davis Eddy. She was preceded in death by her husband,

James Walter Mitchell whom she married July 4, 1965.

Surviving are four children: Rebecca Torok and her companion Carl Floyd, Mannington, Kenneth Mitchell and his wife Tammy, Grafton, Samantha Mundell, Fairmont; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many extended family members. Karen was

the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

Karen was formerly employed at West Virginia University. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a caregiver to many in her family over the years.

The family will receive friends at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, from 5-8pm, Friday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 14th.
