Mannington, WV - Karen Maurine Wetzel Lynch, 84, of Mannington, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Mountain Memories Assisted living in Elkins. She was born January 27, 1941 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late David and Rita (Freeland) Wetzel.

Karen was a schoolteacher for the Marion County Schools, having retired after 40 plus years. She was also a member and treasurer of the East High United Methodist Church in Mannington and part of Dr. Phoebe Moore Library Fund. Upon retirement, she exercised daily, enjoyed time in her swimming pool, sitting on her porch, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons: Jeffrey Shawn (Edith) Lynch of Cocoa Beach, FL and Matthew (Andrea) Lynch of Elkins; grandchildren: Danielle, Kirk, and Joseph Lynch, Hannah Moore (Mason), Libbie D`Annunzio (Ben), Devonn Austin (Ivy), and Nathanial Bennett; great grandchildren: Coen, Cooper, Eli, Stevie, Raelynn, Maurine, Ezra, Obadiah, Ruthie, Olen, and Ella; her sisters: Denise (Jerry) Kiger and Janet King. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Neal Lynch, Jr. on May 11, 2022 and a great granddaughter Rosie.

A family gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Hutson Funeral Home in Mannington.
