Judith Ann Russell
Judith Ann Russell, formerly Randolph, of Weirton, WV, lives eternally in peace after passing away from complications from numerous spinal surgeries. She was 78 years old.
Judy was classy, witty, and beautiful inside and out. She was loving, a skilled gardener, knew how to make a house feel like a home through decorating and filling the kitchen with delicious smells from her cooking.
Judy was known by her loving family as a wife, mother, Grams, and G.G.. She enjoyed walking for exercise, gardening, cooking for her family, taking long county rides, vacationing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She knew how to make her family feel loved by just being in her presence. She was famous for her notorious sigh and squeal of excitement or fear. Her laugh was infectious and could bring a smile to anyone's face. Judy was not only witty but could be sharply sarcastic to make a situation humorous. Judy enjoyed a fresh fountain diet coke, liver and onions, and a dessert followed by a decaf coffee.
Judy was born in Glen Dale, WV to Willard and Imogene Randolph on August 17th, 1941. She met her husband Kenneth Maynard Russell. The couple were married on May 5th, 1960, and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage. They made their home in Weirton, WV.
Judy worked as a Branch Manager, where she oversaw daily operations for Fed One Savings and Loan during a time when women did not achieve such an accomplishment so easy. She was a secretary for the Moose Lodge 688 for four years. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star 147.
Judy will be remembered with love by her husband, Kenneth M. Russell, Sr.; her daughter, Lori Ann Bjorndahl and husband Gary; her son, Scott Eric Russell and his fiancé Danielle; her sister, Joyce Ann Larson and her husband Barry. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; granddaughters, Ashley Satterfield and her husband, Steve; Courtenay Bjorndahl, and Sidney Russell, grandsons, Nathan and Jacob Russell. She will be loved forever by her joys; great-granddaughters, Audrey and Hadley Satterfield, Aliyha Russell, and one on the way, Allison Grace Russell. She is also survived by former daughter in law, Linda Russell Liedke, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth M. Russell Jr. on September 22, 2013. Judy and Kenny are reunited in peace.
Following Judy's wishes there will be no service scheduled. Arrangements are under the care of Greco Hertnick Funeral Home in Weirton, WV.
Judy loved to garden, and was especially fond of this time of year. The family asks that you please plant a flower in her memory this spring. If you wish to make memorial contributions, they can be made to Valley Hospice, 10686 State Route 150 Rayland, Ohio, 43943.
