Bomont, WV - John Hawkins Bledsoe, 84, of Bomont, WV, went to be with his Lord on March 2, 2025.
He was born February 5, 1941, in Huntington, WV. He was the son of the late Hawkins and Opal Fellure Bledsoe.
John graduated from Rivesville High School. He spent four years in the US Army. He retired from Exxon Corporation after decades of service. His home was on his beloved Elk River, where he enjoyed the wildlife and peaceful surroundings.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Barry Bledsoe and wife Kelli, of Fairmont, WV, Jill Timms and her husband Robert, of Pelzer, SC, and Joy Byrd of Elkview, WV, brothers James (Jim) Bledsoe and his wife Karen, and David Bledsoe and his wife, TruJean. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher Bledsoe, James (JT) Bledsoe, Ashlea Bledsoe, Jacob Bledsoe, Savannah Bledsoe, Bronson Bledsoe, Caleb Timms, Kaitlyn Timms, and Brooke Johnson, as well as two great grandchildren, Addyson Bledsoe and Marshall Brock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Bledsoe.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Stump-Matics Funeral Home, 8539 Elk River Rd. North, Clendenin, WV 25045. At his request, there will be no formal funeral services. A graveside service will be held at the Enon Cemetery, in Salt Rock, WV, Thursday, February 6, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Robert Timms presiding.
