John Adrian Balch III Obituary

Fairmont, West Virginia - John Adrian Balch III of Fairmont passed away at United Hospital Center on Sunday, August 31, 2025. He was born in Annapolis, Maryland in 1947, a son of the late John Bernard and Eleanor Clise Draemel Balch.


John grew up in a Navy family, so he lived in many places in his childhood, including Maryland, California, Hawaii, Virginia, and others.


John had a love for golf and crossword puzzles, he also enjoyed all sports including football, and baseball. His favorite shows were Jeopardy and Law and Order. He was a dedicated member of the Oakwood Road Church of Christ.


He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Eileen Morris Balch; one daughter Samantha Ann Balch; six grandchildren Desiree Elise Balch, Dixie Johnston, Daisy Johnston, James Franks, Dakota Kimble and Dahlia Kimble; one great grandchild Kash Herron and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother Andrew Draemer Balch.


Friends may call on Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a celebration of life service will start at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Evangelist Brent Gallagher officiating.
