Monongah, WV - JoAnn Louise Saban, 77, formerly of Carolina, recently of Fazio's Elder Care in Monongah passed away Tuesday evening May 13, 2025. She was born on April 28, 1948 daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Mihalic Saban.

JoAnn was a teacher and retired from the Wetzel County School system. She was catholic by faith and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carolina.

She was a member of the National Education Association and the Croatian Fraternal Order. She enjoyed sports especially bowling, golf and dancing.

JoAnn is survived her niece Dianna and husband George Thompson of Worthington and their children Tessa Thompson and Ray Pigott, George, III and Missy Thompson & Family, Judy and Brady Myers & family and J.D. and Ashley Thompson. Her nephew Nick and wife Terry Saban of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and their children Nicholas and Samira Saban & Family and Kristen Setas and Family. She is also survived by several great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sister's Kathryn "Katie" Saban, Mary Saban and brother Nick Saban and sister-in-law Mary Saban Pasko.

The family would like to thank Fazio's Elder Care for all the care and support given to JoAnn over the past several years.

Friends may call at Ross Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Romeo Bacalso, S.V.D. officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
