Fairmont, WV - Jerold Lee Kinty, Sr., 85, of Pleasant Valley passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born in Fairmont on November 01, 1940, a son of the late Cecil and Sylvia Jean Reeves Kinty.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He also worked as a Store Manager for Grant's Department Store. He also drove routes for Kettering Bakery and Wonder Bread.

He served as Pastor for the Irvine Assembly of God Church in California. He was a faithful member of Covenant Church where he was an Elder. He also enjoyed puzzles, golf, camping and traveling.

He is survived by his son Jerry Lee Kinty Jr.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law who cared for him Bob and Linda Rowand; one brother Claude Kinty and his wife Nancy; a special friend who cared for him Marilyn Gifford and his wonderful aides who did everything for him Stephanie, Heather and Jennifer; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jerry Louise Kinty on November 07, 2015; two sisters Pauline Tennant and Wilma Jean Hoffmaster and two brother Joseph Edward Kinty and Lyle Keith Kinty.

The family of Jerry would like to thank the VA Medical Center and their staff for the wonderful care and love shown to him.

Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, January 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday with Pastor Josh Morgan and Pastor Roy Weese officiating. The Marion County Honor Guard assisted by the Navy will perform a flag service at the funeral home.
