JENNIE L. ALLEN
Jennie L. Allen, 77, passed away peacefully December 11, 2022 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. Jennie was born on February 8, 1945 in Grant Town, WV, the youngest of five children. Her parents were Ray and Linnie Straight. She graduated from Fairview High School and went to Fairmont State College where she earned credentials to teach high school English and English literature.
She taught at Fairview High School and North Marion High School when it first opened.
In 1968 she married Virgil Yost. Virgil passed away in 1986. In 1991, she married Charles Allen and moved to New Hampshire where she lived until her passing.
Family members include her husband, Charles "Lee" Allen; daughter, Mary Ann Wright; grandchildren Amy (Andrew) Wolfe and Devan (Brooke) Wright; and great-grandchildren, Mya, Maverick, and Makya Wolfe.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV.
The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rose Saunders officiating.
Burial will follow at the Eddy-Chapel Cemetery at Jakes Run.
