Janice Jean Beatty Hardesty, 86, of Rivesville, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She was born on April 17, 1938 in Rivesville, a daughter of the late Robert L. Beatty, Sr. and Pearl Crescenzi Beatty. Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph T. Hardesty, Jr.

Janice was a proud 1957 graduate of Rivesville High School and a faithful member of Rivesville United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family.

Janice is survived by her children, Ronald Hardesty (Cindy) of Rivesville, Kimberly James (Art) of Morgantown, Maridale Hardesty, John Hardesty, Jolie Carpenter, and Joe Hardesty (Michele), all of Rivesville, grandchildren, Aaron Hardesty, Amy Hardesty, Adrienne James, Drew James, Joshua Hardesty, Tara Ford (Joshua), Christopher Hardesty (Sonya), Dustin Hardesty, Sarah Davis (Dustin), Ryan Carpenter (Shelli), and Gabby Long.

Janice is also survived by her great grandchildren, Alyssa, Morgan, Emma, Jaxson, Kinsey, Riley, Kiley, Kingston, Addisyn, Macy Grace, Mia, Trent, Lyla, and Colt.

Janice will also be missed by her sister Sharon Beatty, sister-in-law Joyce Hess Hardesty, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends in the Rivesville community.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janice was preceded in death by her brother Robert Beatty, Jr, sister Rita Beatty, and great grandson Creed Davis.

The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26558. In accordance with Janice's wishes, cremation services will occur.
