James "Jack" Ice, 82, of Rivesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born September 10, 1937 in Marion county, a son of the late William Earl and Rebeca Geneva Williams Ice.
He was employed by Morgantown Machine and Hydraulics as a machinist, having retired with 28 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force (Peace Corp). He coached the Rivesville Little League Baseball for 37 years and won the 1979 Championship. He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and birds. He was also an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and WVU Mountaineeers.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Margaret "Marie" Osborne Ice, whom he married June 30, 1958; 3 children: James Lee (Sherry) Ice, Douglas Paul (Donna) Ice, and Steven Wayne (Denise) Ice, all of Rivesville; 11 grandchildren: Derek Ice, Samantha Franks Pope, Terra Franks, Jeremy Ice, Joshua, Christopher, and Justin Corwin, Chelsea and Mike Ice, Brett and Kayla Sigley; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Margaret Stutler of Fairmont, and Irene Arbogast of Jane Lew; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Marjory Humphrey, Harvey and William Hale, Elizabeth Wilson, Jean Dowdy, and Virginia Owens.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 9-10 a.m. where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mark Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens where full military honors will be conducted. www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com
