Moundsville, West Virginia - Jack Porter, a devoted family man and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at home on July 18, 2025, at the age of 93 in Moundsville, WV. Born on January 30, 1932, in Mannington, WV, Jack's journey through life was marked by a spirit of adventure and a steadfast dedication to living life to its fullest. Jack found immense joy in spending time with his family and he was an avid fisherman.

Growing up in the tight-knit community of Mannington, Jack developed an early appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. After proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in Germany, Jack met and fell in love with his future wife, Auguste "Eva." Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Upon returning to the United States, Jack devoted many years of hard work as a Lampman at Consol Energy's Ireland Mine, from which he eventually retired.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" and Dollie Mae (Hillberry) Porter; his brothers, William Ray and Robert Harrison Porter; and his sisters, Mary Beth Anderson and Sallyanne Gorbey.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Auguste "Eva" Porter; his sister, Barbara Michael of Mannington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 2pm until the time of Memorial Service at 3pm at CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 1500 2nd Street, Moundsville, WV, with Pastor Mark Harris officiating.
