Harold Eugene Phillips Jr.
Harold Eugene "Phil" Phillips Jr., 76, of Fairmont, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. He was born on January 09, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, the only son of the late Harold Junior Phillips and Mae (McVicker) Phillips.

After graduating high school, Harold went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force and later volunteered with the National Cemetery Honor Guard. He retired from CB&T/Huntington National Bank after 28 years of service, where he held several positions. He loved gardening and was an avid WVU fan. He loved Jesus, his Lord and Savior, with all his heart. He was a devout member of the Whitehall Church of Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean (Mock) Phillips.
He is also survived by son, Mark Phillips, of Fairmont; daughter, Paula Friend and husband Ray, of Fairmont; grandchildren, Amy Merrill and husband, Dustin, and Sara Martin and husband, Jared; and great-granddaughter, Georgia Merrill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one child in infancy.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital on 8 Northeast and WVU Medicine Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to WVU Medicine Hospice at 327 Medical Park Dr., Bridgeport, WV 26330.

Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Monday, February 03, 2020, from 10 a.m. until the service at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home, with Evangelist Kevin Lough officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown with Full Military Honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Council Honor Guard and the United States Air Force.
