Gerelda Christine (Underwood) Vincent, 86, of Barrackville, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born in Fairview on March 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Tona and Mabel (Albert) Underwood.

Gerelda retired from Illinois Bell Telephone after 20 years before moving back to Barrackville. "Gerry" worked for Shoney's in Fairmont until they closed. She then worked for Burger King in Fairmont as a hostess. She was an active member of the Barrackville Lions Club. Gerry made many friends with her forever smile and kind heart. She was loved by many.

Gerelda is survived by her daughters, Tina M. Helms of Barrackville and Vida Kay Vincent of Chicago; grandchildren, Brittany Star Samuels and Franklin Agostino Vincent, both of Chicago; brother, Tony P. Underwood and his wife Debbie of Dunellon,FL; and a sister-in-law, Susan Underwood of Fairview.

In addition to her parents, Gerelda was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Delano Vincent; brother, Charles L. Underwood of Fairview; and son-in-law, Paul R. Helms of Barrackville.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home-Curry Chapel, 100 Grant Street in Fairview, on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
