Ethel Mae Taylor, 86, of Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday (Oct. 31, 2016) at the home of her son.
She was born June 21, 1930 in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Carrie Williams Armstead.
She was previously employed by Westinghouse for several years. She was an active member of the Shiloh Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, kitchen committee and custodian. Ethel Mae loved gardening and quilting.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Willie (Patricia) Young of Carolina with whom she made her home, Howard (Connie) Armstead of Dothan, Alabama and Edward Taylor of Carolina; three daughters, Othalene Brown of Hollywood, Florida, Sarah Darcus of Dothan, Alabama and Laura (Vincent) Tyler of Washington, D.C; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Taylor; and her sister, Othalene Thomas.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Carolina. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown.
