Eleen " Cookie " Palmer,78 of Shinnston went home to be with her Lord on March 19, 2020. She was born on January 30, 1942 in Wendell, WV to the late Curtis Reger and Brennie Dunson Reger.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Max " Sonny " Palmer with whom she married on June 8, 1963. Two daughters; Carla Hinerman and her husband Tim, Cheryl Cook and her husband Doug; her only son, David Palmer and his wife Judy; adopted daughter, Darla Davis; sister, Mary Jo Hitt; sister-in-law, Michelle Strother and her husband Bill; brother-in-law, Troy Napier and brother-in-law, Hadd Miller; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Cookie was preceded in death by her one brother and four sisters; mother-in-law Peggy Palmer; father-in-law, Homer Palmer; brother-in-law, Mark Palmer.

Cookie was committed to the Lord in these ministries; prayer, women's Sunday school, VBS decorating, clothing and food. Her gifts to the church were being a great encourager and in discipleship. She loved her family and gathering together. Arranging flowers and in home decorating were her favorite hobbies. Cookie was a 1959 graduate of WI High School and a member of the Coon's Run Baptist Church.

Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike Street, Shinnston, Sunday March 22, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The body will lie in state at Coon's Run Baptist Church, 2142 Adamsville Road, Fairmont, WV on Monday March 23, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cecil Welch officiating. Interment will following at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
