Fairmont, WV - Edward Marcus Potesta, 84, of Fairmont passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the John Manchin, Sr. Health Care Center. He was born in Fairmont on November 11, 1940 son of the late Harry "Red" and Catherine Benincasa Potesta.
Edward was Roman Catholic by faith and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is professed in the Third Order Secular of St. Francis.
He graduated from East Fairmont High School and attended West Virginia University.
Edward is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Paul J. Potesta and Bonnie Simon of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Cousins Cynthia Potesta Keane of Potomac, Maryland, Karen Potesta of Morgantown, West Virginia and Eugene and Shirley Potesta of Columbiana, Ohio.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue from 10:00 a.m. till 12 noon followed by the funeral services at noon with Fr. Kishore Varaparla, H.G.N. officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
