Mannington, WV - Edna Marie Cain, age 96 of Seven Pines, Mannington, WV passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at her residence. She was born June 21, 1929 in Seven Pines, WV a daughter of the late Dovener Blackburn Lafferty and Edna Gay Starkey Lafferty.
She is survived by her two children, Rick Cain and his wife Candy of Mannington and Carolyn S. Payton of Kingwood, four grandchildren, Justin R. (Jullie) Cain, Matthew T. (Zoe) Cain, Brian Thomas (Connie J.) Payton, and Connie Sue (Lydell) Owens, nine great-grandchildren, Tucker J. Cain, Tyson C. Cain, Easton H. Cain, Kinsley R. Cain, Matthew, Josie, Kota, Lyra and Amber, and three great-great-grandchildren, Raylynn, Cameron and Emmy.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband Harley S. Cain whom she was married to for 68 years having wed on August 17, 1947 until his passing on March 28, 2016. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Lee Lafferty, Ethel Pearl Lafferty and Bernice Lafferty McNeil and her brother Clifford Junior Lafferty. Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Edna was a homemaker who also worked briefly at Decorator Industries in Mannington. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, working in her flower garden, going for walks and playing the piano. She was a member of the Seven Pines Methodist Church having served as a Sunday school teacher for the little children and also as the church pianist for many years.

There will be no funeral home services. Interment will take place at Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery where Edna will be laid to rest next to her husband Harley. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV has been placed in care of the final arrangements.
