Dr. Samer Kuzbari Obituary

Fairmont - Dr. Samer Kuzbari, 62, of Fairmont, West Virginia, went to God on Friday, August 15, 2025.

He was born on October 17, 1962, in Damascus, Syria, the son of Wafaa Muwaffaw Kuzbari and the late Nizar Ahmed Al-Kuzbari.

Dr. Kuzbari is survived by his fiancée and the love of his life, Kaylee Moody.

He earned his medical degree from Mercy Hospital Medical Center in 1998 before moving to the United States to continue his medical career. Over the years, he practiced medicine in Texas and Illinois before making his home in West Virginia. Dedicated to serving his community, he became affiliated with several local hospitals and clinics, including United Hospital Center, the VA, and Fairmont General.

His devotion to helping others led him to establish a private practice in Fairmont, which he owned and operated with great care for more than 25 years.

Sam had a deep appreciation for antiques, cherished time with his family, and loved the companionship of his pets—Gladys, Dexter, Remington, and Oliver.

He also cherished the quiet moments of life, often spending time alone tinkering with antiques and immersing himself in the history of the generations before him. Yet, while he found peace in solitude, he also held close a small circle of people he trusted deeply. When Samer gave you his trust, it was a true gift—one that spoke to how much you meant to him. Among those who shared this special place in his heart were Dr. Raymond Alvarez, Bob Hess, Jonathan Watson, Stephanie McIntire, and Dan Moore.

Sam's greatest joy in life was his relationship with God. His faith was admirable and served as the foundation of how he lived and loved—fearlessly, selflessly, and with a heart for others. He was a devoted member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport, but his love for God's presence led him to worship with many Christian congregations throughout Bridgeport, Fairmont, Grafton, Morgantown, and even Pittsburgh, PA. Wherever he went, his faith shone through, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

In addition to his mother and fiancée, Sam is survived by his two cherished sons, Malachi Kuzbari and Amir Kuzbari; one brother, Ghazwan Kuzbari; and two sisters, Lubana Kuzbari and Razan Kuzbari. He is also lovingly remembered by his extended family through Kaylee—her father, Michael Moody (Judy); her mother, Charlene Kinsley (John); and her two sisters, Rica Childs and Haylee Moody. Rica's husband, Dale Childs, and Haylee's fiancé, Randy Glasscock, along with Randy's daughter, Grace Glasscock, also shared a special place in Sam's heart and became part of the family he deeply treasured.

Preceding him in death were his father, his aunt, and his grandmother—each of whom played a guiding role in his upbringing. We take comfort in knowing they have joyfully welcomed him into heaven, where they are now reunited in God's eternal presence.

Family and friends will gather to honor Samer's life at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. Grafton, WV on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4:00PM. to 7:00PM the funeral hour with Pastor Sean Wegener officiating.
