Doris Marie Rider, age 85, of Star City, passed away Monday (June 20, 2016) at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1930, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late John and Barbara Summers Church.

Doris was an active person, being a life member of the Monongalia General Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Pines Country Club and the Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events.

Doris is survived by her husband of 66 years, Irving Rider; one daughter, Colleen Titus and husband Bill of Morgantown; one son, James Rider and wife Charlene of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Bonnie Campbell of Mitchellville, Maryland; grandchildren, Amy Hostetler and husband Jason and Chad Titus and wife Ashley both of Morgantown, Emily Rider, Patrick Rider and Stephanie Rider all of Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, James Thomas Rider, Alexis Grace Hostetler, Riley John Titus and Emma Olivia Hostetler and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Drew and Shawn Titus.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown with the Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont.
