Delmus Ray VanPelt Obituary

Delmus Ray VanPelt, age 68 of Rachel, WV passed away suddenly on Friday, February 7, 2025 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born February 7, 1957 in Fairmont, WV a son of the late James VanPelt and Josephine Boldinko VanPelt.


He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cindy Perkins VanPelt, his son Derik VanPelt and fiancé Alexsenia Rosado' of Rachel, his daughter Jennifer VanPelt of Waynesboro, PA, and his two grandchildren, Nelson Rosado and Nayla Rosado. Delmus is also survived by his brother Timothy VanPelt of Fairview, several cousins including Richie, Madison, Abagail, Dustin, August, Aaron, Mitchelle, Ryker, Lee, Ava, Vivian, T.J., Mason, Frankie, Raymond and wife Kathy, Shelby, Scarlet, Elijah and Jason.


In addition to his parents, Delmus was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Clifford, and LeRoy VanPelt, three nephews, Junior (Clifford) VanPelt, Travis VanPelt, and Troy VanPelt, his niece Rita VanPelt, and great-nephew Tyler Cogar.


When the kids were younger, Delmus coached basketball and baseball. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching sports, animals and going camping. He loved spending time with kids and was very family oriented. He had worked and retired from Fairmont Tool.


The family will receive friends at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 3-7:00pm with a short memorial service beginning at 7:00pm. Cremation has been chosen as the final method of disposition.
