Fairmont, West Virginia - Della "Jean" Lambert, 85, passed away on July 27, 2021 at WVU Medicine's Fairmont Medical Center. She resided at Fitzwater's Assisted Living in Fairmont.

She was born in Grafton, WV February 26, 1936, daughter of the late Howard Raymond and Nora Irene (Pitzer) Williams.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Franklin Lambert. They were married October 12, 1956. He resides at Fitzwater's Assisted Living in Fairmont.

She is survived by her sister, Alice Lucas of Grafton and a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brothers Sherman Williams, Leonard Williams, Forrest Williams, Dorman Williams and Dorsey Williams. She was preceded in death by her sisters Gertrude (Williams) Mills, Sylvia (Williams) Smith, and Dorothy (Williams) Knotts along with several nieces and nephews.

Jean graduated from Grafton High School in 1953. After High School she started work at C&P telephone company in Grafton. After she and her husband moved to the Washington, DC area, phone company work became her career at Bell Telephone and later AT&T where she was the first woman in a management position. She and her husband enjoyed hosting family and friends and skiing at their vacation home in Canaan Valley, WV.

After retiring from the phone company, Jean volunteered at a local food pantry where she helped obtain food as well as storing, sorting, and distributing foods. She enjoyed canning a variety of fruits and vegetables, particularly the ones her husband grew. She helped arrange and enjoyed many Williams family reunions. She enjoyed cooking, golfing with friends at Andrews Air Force Base, and doing jigsaw puzzles with family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed time with family who will miss her energy, wit, and humor.

The family will receive friends Monday August 2, 2021 from 10 a.m.-Noon at Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, funeral services will begin at noon with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating.
