Cyril  Minnick
Cyril Minnick, 88, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019. He was born in Hazelton, PA on March 23, 1931.
Cyril retired from the United States Air Force Postal and Courier Service and was a retired, disabled veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He owned the Minnick Grocery Store in Boothsville for 20 years. He was a Charter Member of the Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Shriners, American Legion, VFW, Sheriff's Police Reserve, the Solid Waste Authority, and was a 32nd Degree Mason.
Cyril is survived by his wife, Gladys Ilene Smallwood Minnick; his children, Brenda Lynn Batterman of Bellview, NE, and Bradley B. Minnick and his wife Cheryl Lynn of Fairmont; 8 grandchildren, D.J., Trevor, Travis, Cara, Joshua, Aaron, Elizabeth, and Jason; and nine great grandchidren.
Cyril was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill, Laura, and Shirley; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Batterman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department, 76 Dean Dr., Fairmont, WV 26554.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Orville Wright and Pastor Bill Preston officiating. At the request of Cyril, he will be cremated after the service and interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at

I knew Cyril through business and found him a very bright,sincere,and engaging person. Proud to have known such a fine fellow. So sorry for the families loss, but take comfort in knowing that his was a life well lived.
