Fairmont, West Virginia - Betty (McVicker) Shuman,78, of Fairmont, WV went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. She was born on August 10, 1944 in Grafton, WV, a daughter of the late Fay McVicker and Bonnie (Watson) McVicker. She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Robert Shuman.


Betty was a 1962 graduate of Grafton High School and studied at Fairmont State University. After graduation, she worked for the Monongahela Power Company for 34 years.


Betty and her husband, Bob, are the owners of the Premier Body Works in Barrackville, WV where she worked as the office manager. She was a Protestant by faith.


She enjoyed working in her flower beds. She dearly loved her two cats and African Gray parrot that lived at her office. Because of her love of animals, Betty has requested that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Marion County Humane Society.


In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert Kevin Shuman of Fairmont, granddaughter, Abby Shuman of Fairmont, sister, Mary Phillips Cauffiel and husband Dick of Grafton, brother, Roy McVicker of North Carolina, and sister, Vonda Wheeling of North Carolina.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald McWilliams and David McWilliams.


Family and friends will be received at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, WV on Sunday, October 16 ,2022 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM the hour of the funeral with Pastor Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery.
