Bernard Pratt Obituary

Bernard Dale Pratt, 88, of Hagans Community, passed away at his home on Tuesday (Oct. 10, 2017).

Bernard was born in Hagans on Sept. 12, 1929, to Jesse B. Pratt and Ruby Olive Michael Pratt.

Bernard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he worked for 25 years for GE and retired as a chemical plant worker. He joined the Hagans Methodist Church many years ago. When he wasn't working, Bernard enjoyed bowling, gardening and most of all farming his land and keeping immaculate pasture fields.

Bernard leaves behind his daughters, Darleta Bogdanich and her husband George of Fairmont, Kathy Gatian and her husband Bill of Morgantown, and Donna Adkins and her husband Rick Adkins of Morgantown; grandchildren, William F. Gatian III, Jerrod Dale Adkins, Caitlin Bencic and Holly Bogdanich; great-grandchildren, Savannah Bencic, Violet Bencic, Valerie Bencic, William Gatian IV and Anakin Bencic; one sister, Vonda Tennant of Rivesville; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Pratt.

Friends are invited to gather in support of the family from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday and at 11 a.m. until the funeral service at noon Saturday at McCulla Funeral Home. Following the service, Bernard will be laid to rest at Beverly Hills Cemetery next to his wife, Bonnie, with full military honors conferred by Westover VFW No. 9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
