Mannington, WV - Arnold L. Efaw, age 91 of Mannington, WV passed away peacefully at Fairmont Medical Center on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born February 8, 1934 a son of the late Donald B. "Buster" Efaw and Nellie B. Efaw.
Arnold is survived by his son Allen Efaw of Mannington. His daughters Darlene Daniel and husband Vince of Mannington, Denise Pugh and husband Daniel of Fairmont and Debbie Efaw of Charleston. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Chad Brinegar (Charity), Jeff Brinegar (Danielle), Kristy Moore (Eric), Brandon Efaw (Meagan), Eric Efaw and Lindsay Michael. Arnold also has 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Jon Etta Thorn Efaw, his brother Donald L. Efaw, and his sister Charlotte Male.
Arnold was a coal miner and worked for Bethlehem Steel and then Consol Coal Company. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows far and near with his son Allen. Arnold had a love for all animals. He rescued many, including skunks, foxes, raccoons, and deer. There was never a time when he didn't have cats and dogs.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone at Fairmont Medical Center for the loving care they provided, as well as for their kindness and compassion.
Arnold will be remembered for his quiet devotion to his family and the deep affection he held for the animals that brought him joy and companionship throughout his life. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held at this time. Masters Funeral Home is entrusted with his final arrangements.
