Grafton, WV - Alice Virginia Knotts, 86, of Grafton, WV, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center in Fairmont. She was born at Glady Creek on September 19, 1936, a daughter of the late Edward W. and Ida E. (Vincent) Lough. On November 14, 1953 she married Robert G. Knotts and they celebrated over 69 wonderful years of marriage.

In addition to her husband Robert, Virginia is survived by two children: David W. Knotts and wife Sandra of Fairmont, and Donna Jean Knotts Queen and husband Fred II of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law Juanita Knotts of Grafton; three siblings: Kenneth Lough of Montana Mines, WV, David L. Lough of Fairmont, and Jane Schneider (Roger) of Townsend, DE; six grandchildren: Valerie Queen Shyblosky (Charles) of Okatie, SC, Jonathan Queen (Kristen) of Ft. Worth, TX, Thomas Knotts (Janie) of Harrisville, WV, Amy Knotts Andrews (Greg) of Grafton, Timothy Knotts (Rebecka) of Philippi, and Brandon Knotts of Grafton; and 11 great-grandchildren: Riley and Emily Shyblosky, Madelyn and Henry Queen, Kaige and Bryton Andrews, Cabell, Reese, Boone, Clayton, and Ryker Knotts.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Knotts was preceded in death by one son, Robert Keith Knotts; and five siblings: Dora Criss, Myrtle Wyckoff, Opal Zinser, Edward Lough, and Lonnie Lough.

Virginia, was a graduate of Grafton High School Class of 1955. She was a proud homemaker, but also owner and operator of the former Fas Food Grocery in Grafton for many years. She was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church, the Gideons Auxiliary, and former member of Country Club Homemakers and Christian Council. Virginia enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking. She also liked to sing and talk on the phone with her family and friends. Most of all she loved her family and family gatherings, and always insisted everyone had to be there for those special days.

Family and friends will be received at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home 950 George Washington Hwy Grafton, WV, on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 2 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11am with Pastor Orville Wright presiding. Visitation will begin that morning at 9am.
