Albert White Obituary

Pastor Albert Lee White Sr., 78, of Vallejo, California, formerly of Barrackville went home to be with God on Friday (Sept. 23, 2016) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

He was born June 30, 1938, in Fairmont to the late Albert White and Bertha Johnson White.

"June Boy" or "CoCo", as he was better known by many, was the youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded him in death. He was a 1956 graduate of Barrackville High School where he played football. He left West Virginia at an early age and moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he met and married Grace King. To this union five children were born. In Oct. 1963, he relocated to northern California where he resided some 53 years and married his current wife, JoAnn MaCalister White.

He held various jobs including working in a slaughter house as a butcher in Stockton, California and Berwin Railway in Benicia, California. He retired from Erickson, Inc., a Chevron oil refinery and was a member of Labors Local No. 324.

Pastor White was saved in Vallejo, California at the Shiloh COGIC in 1978 under the leadership of Pastor Roger Vaughn, where he served as an associate minister, teacher, elder and administrator. He then joined Highway COGIC under Pastor Jeremiah Richardson until being called to pastor the Rescue Mission COGIC in Vacaville, California. In addition, he served as District Chaplain with Superindent Richardson until his death. Pastor White had the pleasure of seeing several of his children saved and walking on the path he so loved, some even preaching the word of God, which was revealed to him early in his saved life.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, JoAnn White; 14 children, eldest son, Gordon (Bea) Little of Huntersville, North Carolina, Michael (Shirley) Little of Fairmont, Marcus White of Vallejo, California, Sharrise Baker of Cleveland, Ohio, Albert (Patricia) White Jr., and Robert (Lisa) White, all of Cleveland, Ohio, Francine MaCalister of Vallejo, California, Karen (Wardell) Waters of Cleveland, Ohio, Yolonda Dawn of San Francisco, California, Stephen Arons of Cleveland, Ohio, Rory White, Elisha White and Damien White all of northern California; and Linzo a.k.a. "Buster" (Ku'Shaye) White of Stockton, California; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; other children that he adopted from his heart, Antionette (Tony) Little, Keith Simmons, Tim Simmons, Rodney Little, Jamie Little and Rex (Martha) Fleming; many friends including having a special bond with his lifelong friend, Billie Jo Little Moss of Fairmont.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deirdre Vaughn; and a son, Larry Wallace; as well as his six siblings. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Good Hope Baptist Church, 424 School St. Barrackville. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at the church with Pastor Jeremiah Richardson as eulogist. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.
