Viola D. "Blue Eyes" Rush, 77, of Clarksburg, passed away on Tuesday (Nov. 1, 2016) at her home.
She was born on May 4, 1939, in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Ray E. and Edna S. (Runion)White.
Viola is survived by her four children, Edna Lucille Stutler and husband Gene, Richard A. Rush and wife Sandy Freeland, James E. Rush and wife Sandy all of Fairmont, and Phillip K. Rush and fiancee Cathy Wildman of Monongah; three siblings, Helen Chenoweth of Fairmont, Emmett E. White and wife Alice of Clarksburg, and Ina Moats and husband Archie of Fairchance, Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Viola was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles E. "Bud" Rush, on Jan. 1, 1994; one son, George E. Rush; four siblings, Ruth White, Emma Smitley, Ray P. "Buddy" White and Elizabeth Palmer; and one grandson, Charles William Stutler.
Viola was Methodist by faith and a homemaker who enjoyed raising her five children. When she was able, she enjoyed gardening, canning and working in her flowers. "Blue Eyes," as she was affectionately known, was a kind-hearted person who would never turn her back on anyone that needed help. She loved her family and will greatly be missed.
Family and friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. today at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Janes Memorial.
