Robert Todd Payton, 44, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday (March 29, 2017) at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh as the result of a sudden illness.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1972, in Fairmont, a son of Robert E. and LeeAnn (Metz) Payton.
Todd enjoyed playing softball with his dad, brother and his boys, watching his children play sports and, most of all, spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Todd is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Beverlee (Miller) Payton; his two sons, Robert Gage Payton and Lance Parker Payton, both of Fairmont; his brother, Aaron Payton and his wife Jayme of Fairmont; his sister, Jayme Dodd and her husband Chevee of Fairmont; and his father-in-law, Lawrence Miller Sr. of Fairmont.
Also surviving are his two nieces, Aleena Dodd and Keighley Dodd; his nephew, Moses Miller; his three uncles, Larry Payton and his wife Linda, Michael Payton and his wife Cindy and John Randell Metz; his two aunts, Sandra Locke and her husband Neal and Carolyn Payton; and his brother-in-law, Lawrence Miller Jr.
Todd was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty and Clarence Payton and John and Helen Metz; his uncle, Clarence T. Payton; and his mother-in-law, Bonnie Miller.
Family and friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Seth Broadhurst officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmington.
