Mr. Terry James Vitarelli, 77, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday morning (May 28, 2017) at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born Nov. 25, 1939, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, the only child of the late James Benny Vitarelli, formerly of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, and the late Hazel Mae (Knight) Vitarelli, formally of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Vitarelli was a 1957 graduate of Waynesburg High School. From 1957 through 1978 he worked at various printing and newspaper companies including the Fairmont Times West Virginian. From 1979 until his death he owned T&M Appliance Repair Inc., installing and repairing all types of appliances.
He was a lifelong member of the Oakwood Road Church of Christ, where he served as an Elder for 30 years. He also preached the gospel part time to various local Churches of Christ for more than 50 years. Terry was an avid model train collector.
Terry was married to the late Margaret "Peggy" Ann (Carpenter) Vitarelli for 51 years and is survived by his three children, his son, T. Jay Vitarelli and his wife Robin of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, his son, Jan Mark Vitarelli and his wife Theresa of Greensboro, North Carolina, and his daughter, Joy L (Vitarelli) Narmore and her husband Brett of Fort Worth, Texas. He was also survived by his very special grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Julianne, Mark, Jennifer, James, Isaiah and Benjamin, and one great-grandchild, Emma Rene.
Terry's family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday and from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Oakwood Road Church of Christ with Evangelist Brent Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
