Shirley Ann's Story
Shirley Ann Schwartz Tracey, 83, of 126 Second St., Swan Quarter, North Carolina, died late Friday (May 20, 2016) at Vidant-Beaufort Hospital, Washington, North Carolina.
Born in Marion County, on Feb. 16, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Olive Shaver Schwartz. She was married to Robert Tracey, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and loving mom, who moved to Swan Quarter from Pennsylvania to be near her daughter after her husband's death.
Surviving are a daughter, Connie Ann Tracey of Swan Quarter, North Carolina; a foster son, Allen Jefferson Atwood of Indiana, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Barrow Arthur Koslosky of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Rhett Valance Koslosky of Pennsboro; two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Engel Koslosky and Lauren Mullenis; and several special nieces and nephews, Delores Parsons, John Schwartz, Lisa Denny, Polly Schwartz, Lynn Overby, Linda Meadows and Wanda Schwartz.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Johnny Schwartz, Mary Sumner, Helen Harman, Frieda Bell, Dickie Schwartz, Clarence Ray Schwartz and Melvin Schwartz.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bryan Funeral Service in Swan Quarter. Pastor Sonny Furrow will officiate.
The family will visit with friends following the service Wednesday and other times at the home.
