Rose Marie Cianfrocca Cervo, 80, of Fairmont, passed away Monday (May, 30, 2016) at Monongalia General Hospital.
Rose was born in Marion County, Feb. 9, 1936, daughter of the late Louis and Mary Cioe Cianfrocca.
Rose shared her love of ministry by canning, baking and cooking. She always enjoyed sharing her goods with everyone. She enjoyed the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Cervo; four children, Mary Virginia Weaver and husband Ernie of Fairmont, John Anthony Cervo and wife Kay of Fairmont, Marc Allen Cervo and wife Diane of Fairmont, and Lois Ann Layman and husband John of Fairmont; five grandchildren, Joshua Weaver, Silena Weaver-Seitz, Michael Layman, Rosanna Layman-Whetzel and Cara Cervo; and 10 great-grandchildren, Paige Seitz, Zane Seitz, Seth Racer, Conor Weaver, Devon Weaver, Cullen Weaver, Ava Whetzel, Kaitlyn Layman, Emma Layman and Hailey Layman. Rose is the last surviving member of her immediate Cianfrocca family.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence Desi, John "Peach," Victor and Nicky Cianfrocca; and a sister, Virginia Cianfrocca Pitrolo.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., Fairmont and will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home with Sister Stella Cronauer officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Walter Jagela as celebrant. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fairmont.
