Ronald's Story

Text size

Ronald Earle Nixon III, 65, of Fairmont, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday (July 4, 2017) in hospice care at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born in Gustavus, Alaska, on June 9, 1952, a son of the late Ronald Earle Nixon Jr. and Mary Kathryn Shackelford Nixon.
Memories of his sarcastic wit and eccentric nature will be remembered by his five siblings, Timothy Sean Nixon of Fairmont, Kathryn Marie Nixon of Fairmont, Pamela Denise Smith and husband Gary of Bridgeport, Patrick Dennis Nixon of Clarksburg, and Patricia Jeanne Candid and companion Denver Jones of Easley, South Carolina; five nieces and nephews, Monica Nixon, Amanda Barrett, Denise Croston, Anna Singleton and Sherry Scott; 10 great-nieces and -nephews; and best friend, Brad Nickolich of Fairmont.
After graduating from Massena Central High School in New York, Ron attended Potsdam State University in New York. He worked as a sales manager for Executive Auto Leasing in Fairmont, and as a cook for 3 Ways Inn in Fairmont.
His inner circle knew him as a pool king, chess master, card shark, fooseball phenom, adventurer, music connoisseur, good son, loyal brother and unforgettable friend. His gratitude and compassion were evident as he cared for his aging parents in the last chapter of their lives. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds that frequented his yard, and was always providing them with new feeders and houses.
Ron's request for cremation has been honored, and his family will have a private Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be sent directly to his family c/o Pam Smith, P.O. Box 27, Anmoore, WV 26323.
The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Road in Jane Lew is honored and privileged to serve the family of Ronald Earl Nixon III.
