Ronald Newton Hess, 71, of Fairmont, passed away on Sunday (Sept. 11, 2016) at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born in Marion County, a son of the late Newton Hess and Mildred Rodetsky.
Ronald worked as a tree trimmer with Aspen Tree Service and with his brothers at Lumberjack.
He enjoyed attending the Meadowdale Wesleyan Church. Ronald was a friendly, kind person who enjoyed talking with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
He is survived by three brothers, Robert "Bobby" Hess of Fairmont, Roy Hess and his wife Irene of Rock Lake and Homer Hess and his wife Donna of Fairmont; three sisters, Jessie Elliott and her husband Jody of Bridgeport and Margaret Floyd of New Martinsville and Betty Bryant of Detroit and several caring nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary "Pete" Hess, Bill Hess and Charles Hess; and three sisters, Norma Kruzel, Donna Cross and Genny Nisky.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
