Roger Lee "Butch" Anderson, 64, formerly of Farmington, died Saturday (Sept. 10, 2016) at the Fairmont Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a resident for several years.
He was born Oct. 23, 1951, in Fairmont, a son of the late Arthur Allen and AnnaBelle Michael Anderson.
Butch was a well-known character in Farmington, often seen hitchhiking or walking the roads, which happened to be his favorite past times.
Survivors include six siblings, Arthur Ray Anderson, Port Republic, Virginia, Brenda Mulpharus, Ridgeland, South Carolina; Ivy Christine Anderson, Marion County, Debbie Boyce, Mannington, Tom Anderson, Fairmont and Carolyn Sue Anderson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Bessie Higginbotham.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday to conclude the visitation with Pastor Charles Fancher officiating. Cremation will follow. Condolences may be accessed at www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com.
