Robert "Bob" Russell Snider, 77, of Mannington, died Thursday (May 12, 2016) at Monongalia General Hospital.
He was born April 3, 1939, in Dents Run, Mannington, a son of the late Forrest "Frosty" Elijah Snider and Helen Margaret Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Tharp Snider, with whom he was married to for 48 years; four children, Clinton Ashley and wife Kathy of Mannington, Janet Henderson of Mannington, Darlene Ashley of Idamay, and Tammy Renette Snider Park of Mannington; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nova Mae Henderson and husband Ron of Fairview, and Wanda Gay McDonald of Monongah; two brothers, Jack Snider and wife Ressie of Idamay, and Billy Snider; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Ashley Jr.; a brother, George Eugene Starkey; and a granddaughter, Shelly Darlene Ashley.
Bob's hobbies included hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He retired from R.G. Johnson with 34 years of service. He was a past member of the Mannington Moose Lodge.
Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Masters Funeral Home, Mannington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Reverend Charles Chipps officiating. Interment will follow at the Mannington Memorial Park Cemetery.
