Raymond Burr Clayton, 76, of Fairmont, passed away Friday morning (March 24, 2017) at his residence.
He was born in Fairmont, son of the late Clovis Raymond and Ada Amos Clayton.
Raymond retired from Precision Coil as a metal tester. He previously worked at Owens Illinois and Alcan Aluminum. He was a Civil War enthusiast. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Giovanna Beafore Clayton of Fairmont; two daughters and sons-in-law Mary Kathryn (Kathy) and Shawn Dunn of Fairmont and Andrea and Christopher Casella of Buckhannon. He is also survived by three grandchildren Clayton Dunn, Brady Dunn and Sophia Casella; one sister Mary Joann Haught of Bruceton Mills and brother-in-law Stanley Beafore and his wife Jean of Fairmont. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special cousin Richard Ridenour.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue Fairmont. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Watson with Fr. S.A. Arokiadass as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. A vigil service led by Deacon Lou Belldina will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
